Contribute to the Theosophical Library

The Theosophy Library website—in partnership with Universal Theosophy—is an independent endeavor, run entirely by volunteers, and made possible by donations from our online community.

Usage of Funds

Here are what the funds are needed for:

  1. A vigorous content addition program and expansion of the Theosophical Library (see list below).
  2. The completion of the online Secret Doctrine Project (see below).
  3. Media and outreach efforts, incl. podcasts, videos, audiobooks, etc. (see our YouTube channel).
  4. A monthly Newsletter with updates on classes, events, and news from around the theosophical world.
  5. Study Classes and Discussion Groups (see our Classes page for details).
  6. Run Spring and Fall Lecture Series (see our Activities page for details).
  7. Special Events, e.g. White Lotus Day, ULT Day, Great Teachers Day, etc. (see our Activities page for details)
  8. Website development and maintenance.
  9. Social Media presence: daily posts, announcements, and promotion (see Facebook, X).

Online Secret Doctrine Project:

See here: https://theosophylib.com/hpb/secretdoctrine.html

This edition includes the following:

  • Updated spelling of all technical terms, names, and foreign language words.
  • Corrected and updated references, given in clearly marked reference notes.
  • Updated grammar, punctuation, capitalization, etc.
  • Updated quotations, as cross-referenced with original sources.
  • Identification of all quotations, updated terms, unknown terms, esoteric source material, etc. by colorized text.

The primary goal is to provide an edition that is up to current scholarly standards and can be easily used by students as well as academics and researchers.

Content Addition Effort:

This effort is being done here at theosophylib.com, which is dedicated to housing an online theosophical library.

  1. Digitize and consistently format all of Blavatsky’s writings
(note that approximately 80% of writings have been uploaded to date)
  1. Digitize articles from primary theosophical periodicals:
(including: The Theosophist, Lucifer, The Path, etc., etc.)
  1. Update, modernize and standardize terminology, grammar, and source referencing to modern academic standards throughout all online writings. (this is especially important so that the database uses consistent spelling of terms, which makes it possible to implement detailed word searching and research tools)
  2. Develop a searchable online database and concordance (similar to digital biblical concordances) especially for the writings of HPB and WQJ.
